Job Purpose
The Fabrication Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication projects. This role involves interpreting engineering drawings, performing quantity take-offs, analyzing fabrication/erection requirements, and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to build complete bid proposals.

Exercise due diligence in the review and interpretation of RFQ/RFP documents.
Interpret structural drawings, connection details, and project specifications with high accuracy.
Communicate with clients to align on tender development process and project requirements.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates in accordance with company standards.
Prepare and submit tender proposals in compliance with all company procedures and bid requirements.
Follow internal verification and bid-checking processes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
Coordinate with Production and Drafting teams to confirm capacity and schedule alignment.
Assist in comparing bid vs. IFC drawings to identify scope changes and pricing impacts.
Participate in post-award project reviews to evaluate bid assumptions vs. actual outcomes.
Support pre-award negotiations to ensure contract terms align with company conditions and risk profile.
Contribute to the development of project execution strategies.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to support future business opportunities.
Follow-up on quotations to determine status and gather feedback.
Assist with Contract Change Notice (CCN) pricing and costing adjustments as required.
Perform Project Management duties as assigned to support execution teams.
Working Conditions
The incumbent is required to work in an office environment with moderate noise. The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office routines.
Physical Requirements
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
