Job Purpose

The Business Development representative is responsible for helping grow Waiward's top line, supporting account management plans, and helping execute Waiward's growth plans.

Responsibilities

  • Displays a commitment to Waiward’s incident-free vision, values, and culture;
  • Supports business development activities for the company by:
    • Networking with customers and prospect companies to build and enhance Waiward’s business relationships;
    • Lead generation through networking and industry intelligence gathering;
    • Supporting the development of RFP / RFQ documents when required;
    • Demonstrating Waiward’s capacity for steel fabrication and construction services;
  • Participate in the development and execution of account management plans as required.
  • Support development and execution of Waiward growth plans.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Degree in related field required;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development;
  • Strong network of oil and gas contacts;
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing client relations;
  • Self-motivated with a track record of exceptional performance;
  • Task-oriented with a demonstrated ability to multi task and manage time effectively;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills;
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand the needs of the client;
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.);
  • Experience working with Salesforce software is beneficial.

Working Conditions

The incumbent is required to work in an office environment with mdoerate noise. The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office rountines.

 

Physical Requirements

The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and interact with a number of clients. The incumbent is also required to sit for extended periods of time.
